Olin Banks

Olin Banks, age 79, of Mableton passed away on Wednesday December 1, 2010. Olin was born on October 9, 1931 in Fayette County, Fayetteville, Georgia. He was a man who loved to learn and would teach himself many different skills. Olin worked as a die maker at Latham Time Recorder Company. Olin was a member of Mount Harmony Baptist Church, served as President of the Georgia Mineral Society, was a lifetime member of Cotton Indian Mineral Society, and was a lifetime member of Cobb County Gem and Mineral Society.

Olin was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Jeanette Hazel Wiedner Banks. He is survived by his son, David Banks of Acworth; brother, Virgil Banks of Santa Cruz, CA; grandchildren, Haden and Kalen Banks; and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 3, 2010 from 6:00-8:00PM at Gene Davis-White Columns Chapel. The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 1:00PM (in state at 12:30PM) at Son Rise Baptist Church in Carrollton. An interment will follow at Carroll Memory Gardens in Carrollton.

The pallbearers will include: Haden Banks, Dustin Arrington, Jason Arrington, Doug Arrington, Doug Arrington, Delane Wiedner, Craig Wiedner, and Christopher Lebowe.
